BIG News for Cane Bay Residents!

Something BIG is coming to the Cane Bay community in Summerville, South Carolina!

A gorgeous DRB Living Room at Cane Bay
Cane Bay developer Gramling Brothers Real Estate and Development Co. recently gave 68 acres to the YMCA of Greater Charleston to build a 70,000 sf sports facility with a 50-meter pool, basketball court, track, and multipurpose space. The surrounding land will have fields and courts, as well as 15 miles of trails for runners and bikers to enjoy. This donation is the largest gift of land ever donated to a non-camp YMCA in the United States.

When cane residents expect to see this amazing sports complex take shape? Not as long as one would think. Groundbreaking could come in as little as 18 months, with hopes to complete the entire project in a decade.

The new complex will bring thousands to Cane Bay and Charleston, and do great things for the local economy. Paul Stoney, President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Charleston said about the project, "This is an investment in the community, and all we're asking them to do is support it."

Dan Ryan is a legend in the homebuilding industry, he pioneered the West Virginia marketplace and established a legacy that other larger builders have been unable to replicate though many have tried and failed.Dan grows his company into geographies that have unique character both in history and people. On September 9, 2012, the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) released their IMI or Improving Markets Index and of the 99 areas that had improved Greenville was the sole South Carolina area listed. Dan and COO, Ronny Salameh decided to visit the Greenville market to find out what the buzz was all about.  They found a thriving community with an eye towards the beauty of the mountainous outdoors that has provided a home for education and industry.  Together, they interviewed many talented individuals to lead the team locally and selected Jonathan Giles as Market Manager.  Jonathan is a local having lived in Greenville the past 25 years.

Things to Do: Downtown Pittsburgh

For those of you visiting Pittsburgh in the near future, here is a list of things to do after the sun goes down in this amazing city!

Dining
Love great food? Restaurants with character and style? Tired of the same old-same old of suburban chains? The delectable one-of-a-kind variety you crave is in Downtown Pittsburgh. Casual, classic Pittsburgh diners. Four-star restaurants lead by some of the nation’s great chefs. And, authentic international cuisine that is a culinary tour of the world is all within less than a square mile.

  Arts & Culture
Downtown is unquestionably the heart of Pittsburgh’s arts and culture scene. Each night, the Cultural District, 14 square blocks along Penn and Liberty Avenues, buzzes with theatergoers and diners. Enjoy a thrilling night of Broadway at the Benedum Center, or a dramatic evening of symphony, ballet or opera at the Heinz Hall, the home of the internationally-acclaimed Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

Nightlife & Entertainment
There’s a distinctly different vibe to Downtown when the office lights go off and the lights of the clubs and lounges flip on. Live music, theater, dancing…the city positively pulses. After work, chill with friends as the happy hour heats up. With a cool glass in hand, stress—and rush hour traffic—simply drain away.

Come visit this awesome city and you'll see why people love it!

The Belmont at Clover Ridge!

The Belmont at Clover Ridge
In my last Clover Ridge post, I put up some pictures of the progress being made there. Two houses are up, with foundation and drywall up. One of these homes will be the future Dan Ryan Builders model home. It's called the Belmont. I thought I would take the time to spotlight the Belmont and talk about all of its amazing features.

The bottom floor of the Belmont

The Belmont has 3,022 square feet base with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. These numbers are not set in stone, as it is always possible to add on to this home. Some of the possible add-ons for the Belmont include a morning room, a third bathroom, and even an optional conservatory!

The Belmont is one of our most beautiful homes and would be perfect for a commuter looking to live in the Frederick area. I'll keep you updated on this particular Belmont, and post when it is finished and ready to tour!
